Build a Fire
03:20
|
|||
There's people on the hillside so you'll hide behind the car,
My shoes are off, my feet are wet, these twigs won't get me far,
There's Insects in my clothing and there's flies inside my hair,
These branches are all dead inside they won't get me anywhere,
You want a fire, I'll build a fire,
You want a fire, I'll build it
We'll sit beside the scorched dry grass with the river at our back,
We will run together over grass and warm tarmac,
We'll stand above the town we live, the streets an orange glow,
You bear your legs to the world and i will smell like smoke,
You want a fire, I'll build a fire,
You want a fire, I'll build it

This is a Battlefield
04:00
|
|||
You drown your sorrows in water and porcelain,
Your head under water until the colour drains from your skin,
I'll watch it turn circles until all of the steam has gone and all of the blood has cleared from my lungs.
I drown my sorrows outside in the rain,
The water it cleanses so i wont feel the same,
I'll watch it turn circles until all of the steam has gone and all of the blood has cleared from my lungs.
This is a battlefield that's laid out in front of us,
I'll bring the chemicals, i'll help you build up your trust,
This is a battlefield that's laid out beneath our feet,
I'll bring the chemicals, I will not admit defeat.

All the colours of the rainbow have spilled across the path,
I'm bothered by the cold that bites my hands but i know it will not last,
It will be gone before the day on which i met you when my face begins to warm
But for now i'll turn my back against the winter and we'll both wait out the storm,
The rain is lashing down upon my face but i wont pay it any heed,
The faintest flicker of a flame that starts a fire paints my face a red so deep.
All the colours of the rainbow have spilled across the floor,
Alone in a room that's filled with people i will never need you more,
I'll still be here on the day on which i met you when my face begins to warm
But for now i'll turn my back against the winter and we'll both wait out the storm,
The rain is lashing down upon my face but i wont pay it any heed,
The faintest flicker of a flame that starts a fire paints my face a red so deep.

Take the colour from my skin,
Colour yourself and take my oxygen,
I'd give all my blood up for you,
The life that you're growing and the one that's still new,
Walk down the river with me,
The water it covers the back of my knees,
Shine that light in my eye,
For once in my life I'm afraid to die.
Take all the warmth from my breath,
Let it heat you up until i've got nothing left,
Take all the love that i have,
And give nothing back i am a selfless man,
Climb up the valley with me,
Lets take in the sights of all the things that we see,
Shine that light in my eye,
For once in my life i am afraid to die.

Blue Blazer
05:35
|
|||
Light from the TV casts a shadow on the wall,
There are six legs a broken body and four wings to move along,
So I'll take you by the hand and we'll move sharply through the night,
Our own legs they will propel us, on borrowed wings we will take flight.
The dark it will protect us for it hides so many sins,
The insects and our enemies are all contained within,
So I'll take you by the hand and we'll move sharply through the night,
Our own legs they will propel us, on borrowed wings we will take flight.
If you promise that you'll stay with me, if you promise you wont leave,
I'll wrap you up in my blue blazer and lie you down amongst the leaves,
I will give to you my body heat, I'll stay until first light,
And i promise I'll protect you from the monsters in the night.
